1. Who do I call when I find waste on the roadside or in a county ditch?

You can call the Ellis County Road and Bridge Division at (785) 628-9455 or Dispatch at (785) 625-1011.

2. Do you accept mixed loads of waste?

The landfill will accept loads of waste that are co-mingled together; however, the load will be charged at the higher rate. Loads that are separated but are transported together can be charged at their applied individual rates and dumped at their individual locations.

3. Do you accept asbestos?

The landfill will accept non-friable asbestos, but it must be wet or covered when transporting. Notify the Landfill prior to transporting. Friable asbestos requires a Solid Waste Disposal Authorization (SWDA) form from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE). The local KDHE number is (785) 625-5663. 4. How much hazardous waste can I bring at one time?

The landfill accepts five gallons or 50 pounds of household hazardous waste from each Ellis County resident per visit.

5. What methods of payment do you accept?

The landfill accepts payment by in-state checks, cash and credit or debit cards. Payment is due at the time services are rendered.
