The Jail Division is available to record ink fingerprints for individuals who require this service for non-criminal purposes (i.e. licensing, pre-employment, adoption, conceal carry, etc.). This service is available Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Please allow for approximately 10 minutes per individual fingerprint card.
Beginning Monday, February 1, 2021 the Ellis County Sheriff's Office will begin charging $10 for fingerprinting services. We will not charge for concealed carry, city employment and county employment.
Items to Bring
Be sure to bring any fingerprint cards, waivers, instructions, and/or additional paperwork that you were given regarding the fingerprinting process and the requirements of the agency or company requiring your fingerprints. Please complete the required informational fields at the top of the card(s) prior to being fingerprinted. A government-issued photo ID must be presented at the time of fingerprinting.
Individuals who are fingerprinted here are free to take the completed fingerprint cards with them. However, if required, we can mail the fingerprints provided the individual brings addressed envelope with postage applied. This envelope must large enough to hold the fingerprint card(s) (8 inches by 8 inches).
