Tree Branches


Disposal of tree limbs and brush is offered free of charge to City of Hays Residential Customers

A $20 per ton/$15 minimum fee (1500 pounds) will be assessed to all licensed tree trimmers and commercial businesses and all marked business vehicles hauling trees and brush

Aside of tree or shrub trimmings, accepted waste at the tree pile includes: pine needles, honeysuckle plants, and tumbleweeds. All limbs/clippings must be emptied from plastic bags at the dumping site.

Items NOT accepted at the tree site include:

  • Grass clippings or root balls
  • Bamboo stalks
  • Garden waste
  • Leaves (no branches)
  • Straw
  • Non-woody plant material
