WIC Approved Food

WIC checks can be used to buy designated healthy foods at over 350 stores statewide. Certain WIC foods are chosen because they contain nutrients necessary for a healthy pregnancy, breastfeeding, infancy, and childhood. A wide selection of available healthy WIC foods include the following:
  • Milk - skim, whole, 1%, 2%, fat free, lactose free, evaporated, and nonfat dry
  • Eggs - grade AA or A
  • Cheese - block Cheddar, Colby, Cojack, Monterey, Mozzarella, and Swiss or American (sliced)
  • Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
  • Canned Fruits and Vegetables
  • Frozen Fruits and Vegetables
  • Juice - 64 ounce container, shelf stable concentrate, frozen concentrate
  • Hot Cereal
  • Peanut Butter - smooth, creamy, or crunchy
  • Dried Bean or Peas
  • Canned Beans - black, kidney, navy, pinto, or fat free refried
  • Fish - light chunk tuna and pink salmon packed in oil or water
  • Whole Grains - bread/buns, tortillas, brown rice, and oatmeal
  • Cold Cereal
  • Baby Food - fruits, vegetables, and meats
  • Infant Cereal - oatmeal, rice, whole wheat, barley or mixed
  • Infant Formula - the brand, type, and size are listed on the check
