The Environmental Office permits and supervises the construction of newly constructed water supply wells. This is to ensure that wells are in safe locations and constructed to prevent contamination of groundwater.

For state regulations regarding water wells, please view the Kansas Department of Health and Environment's Article 30: Water Well Contractor's License: Water Well Construction.

View Ellis County's Construction Guidelines for Water Wells.
